Entry requirements

Our 21+ Entry Policy

Entry to The Yard & Felt Social Bistro is restricted to guests aged 21 years and over, in compliance with Australian gambling regulations. We apply this policy consistently across the whole venue so every guest can relax in a space designed for adults.

Before you arrive, please make sure you have an acceptable form of identification with you. Our team checks ID at the door and may ask again at the gaming floor entrance.

Key points to know

  • All guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID upon entry.
  • The age limit applies to both the dining and gaming areas.
  • Staff are trained to verify age and refuse entry to anyone under 21.
  • The legal gambling age in New South Wales is 18, but our venue policy is 21+.
  • Acceptable ID includes an Australian driver's licence, passport, or proof of age card.

Stay in control

Player Protection Tools

We want every visit to feel comfortable and within your control. The tools below are available to all guests, and our staff can explain them in more detail at any time.

Self-Exclusion

Guests can request self-exclusion from the gaming floor for a set period, during which they will be denied entry to the casino area.

Self-exclusion can be arranged by speaking with our staff or contacting us via email. The minimum self-exclusion period is 6 months, but longer periods are available. This is a voluntary program, and staff are trained to handle requests discreetly.

Deposit and Time Limits

We encourage players to set personal limits on time and money spent on gaming.

Our staff can provide information on setting limits, and we offer reminders about time spent on the gaming floor. The venue does not offer electronic gaming machines with deposit limits, but we promote responsible play in every area.

Information and Support

We provide information about responsible gaming and where to get help, both at the venue and on this page.

Brochures and contact details for support services are available at reception. Our staff are trained to recognise signs of problem gambling and offer assistance. Support services are available 24/7 via phone and online.

Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone. Common signs include spending more time or money than intended, chasing losses, and hiding gambling activity from loved ones. Problem gambling is a recognised mental health condition, and help is available and effective.

  • Feeling restless or irritable when trying to cut down on gambling.
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble.
  • Neglecting work, family, or other responsibilities due to gambling.
  • Lying to family or friends about how much time or money is spent gambling.
  • Gambling to escape from problems or relieve feelings of helplessness.

  2. Have you ever felt restless or irritable when trying to cut down or stop gambling?
  3. Have you ever gambled to escape from problems or relieve feelings of helplessness?
  4. Have you ever lied to family or friends about how much you gamble?
  5. Have you ever borrowed money or sold anything to get money to gamble?
